Nor is it a stylized revenge saga like Kill Bill vol. In conclusion, Jackie Brown is not a graphic crime story like Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction that preceded it. But to me, thats the heart of the movie, and thats why the movie works so well. Two people that together figure out a way to steal $500,000 and get away with it. Two people that meet in a very unlikely way.

Two people who are middle aged, lonely, and tired of their dead end jobs. After a few viewings of the film, you will notice that underneath it all, this movie is really about two people. But to me there is something quite beautiful to this movie. To some people, this movie is just a crime/heist movie. Max Cherry is without a doubt my favorite character in all of Quentin Tarantino's movies. But for me, Robert Forster steals the show. Every character in this movie is great and unique in their own way. Without giving too much away, all of these characters in one way or another are all after $500,000 of Ordell's money. And Robert Forster plays Max Cherry, a bail bonds man. Michael Keaton (my all time favorite actor)plays ATF agent Ray Nicollette who wants to take down Ordell. Bridget Fonda plays Melanie, a "blonde haired surfer girl" who lives with Ordell. Robert DeNiro (in a smaller role for such a big actor) plays Louis, Ordell's friend who recent got out of jail.

Jackson plays Ordell Robbie, a gun dealer who uses Jackie to bring him in money from Mexico. Grier plays Jackie Brown, an airline stuartess in her 40s. Tarantino again shows you don't need an a-list actor to carry a movie. All the actors in the movie are superb. The lead is played by actress Pam Grier who nails the role. Jackie Brown on the other hand has totally real characters that don't come off as too over the top. The scenarios of that movie, while fun and totally entertaining, aren't too realistic. But I doubt in the real world there would be two hit men in matching black and white suits. I love Pulp Fiction, its one of my all time favorite movies. Its a lot more tamed, and to say the least realistic. Those of you who expect an energetic, stylized, violent, comic book-esque film like Pulp Fiction will not get that from this movie. And thats exactly what the film is, it's a character piece. The second time I watched it, I knew the plot already so I really got to indulge in the characters of the film. This movie was encoded directly from a Blu-ray disc to 4 variations.

1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p - for all types of connection speeds. I didn't hate the movie, but I didn't love it either. We bring you this movie in multiple Definitions. The first time I sat down to watch Jackie Brown, I wasn't so impressed. And a wonderful, tragic, near other-worldly score by Mica Levi.Sometimes a movie requires more than one viewing. Beautifully composed, with notes of elegance and grotesqueness in equal measure.

Watching the real White House tour video on YouTube showed me how accurate Portman's breathy accent and meticulous demeanor really were. Natalie Portman's performance does indeed capture Jackie Kennedy's persona, but also the legend of her and the real woman behind it all.

A grandiloquent gesture of political humanity for a house full of ghosts. A reminder that all legends start with a simple human being doing things only a person can do. It's telling in the universe of the film that Jackie herself is first obsessed with redesigning the White House in what is ostensibly a superficial act of decorating, but then is revealed to be, in reality, attempting to reflect more than the legends of past presidents but also the men who shaped them. After being presumed dead, James Delaney resurfaces in London seeking revenge for the death of his father and inheriting the family shipping empire, which threatens the ambitions of his half-sister and the East India Company. It's concerned with how someone copes in the spotlight, how someone can make a legacy from the idea of a thing, how a person is more important than their legend but also how their legend shapes how that person is forever perceived. Even when it was a bit too on the nose (the faults mostly lie in the wraparound story). I mostly fell for this exploration of grief, grace and mythmaking.
